Chatfield Prioritizes Health

When it comes to the everyday problems we face, we always rush and think about what our next deadline is, or what our next task is assigned. The last thing we have on our minds is the stress we intake, and how that affects our day-to-day health. Luckily for our Chatfield community, we have people like Mrs. Diana Rarich, the new Social and Emotional Learning counselor, who organized last week’s Health Fair.

The Health Fair consisted of several booths, all corresponding to a certain aspect of how to be healthy, whether it be socially, emotionally, or physically. People from Highlands Behavioral Health Systems, Jefferson County Public Health, Jefferson Center, and even the Foothills Rec Center came and presented their aspect of health and how that can positively impact our lives.

We had various booths covering several health-related topics, from bridging difficult conversation topics between adults and adolescents to the importance of the spinal cord in bodily function. There were also some intriguing booths, like the one about the benefits of essential oils and the other one about the wonders of holistic health.

Other fun things at the health fair was the free 5-minute massage that was offered, as well as the various demonstrations done from some of the other booths, like virtual reality meditation.

Overall, the Health Fair provided lots of information on how to keep up with your health, even when doing the bare minimum. Despite the vast difference in topics, from essential oils to chiropractic practices, all of them had the same message: keeping up with your health is an important way to make sure you stay happy.
