I don’t know about you, but to come home after a long and stressful day just to be greeted by my dog wagging its tail at my arrival, is the highlight of my day. Their excitement to see us have the immediate power to light up our moods. The best part of this is they aren’t pretending to be excited; they are simply overjoyed at the sound of the garage opening or the sound of footsteps. Though, this doesn’t apply to just dogs. Your cat may rub up against your legs as you walk by, revealing they missed your affection. Something about these little interactions make us feel so much better about our day because it seems as if our pets whole world is us.

Pets will never let you down. You need to cuddle? Great, your cat will curl up on you. You need to run an errand, but don’t want to go alone? Awesome, your dog is in the car with you in a flash. They are simply a built-in best friend. Animals do have different personalities; some may be more willing to cuddle up than others. This doesn’t mean they don’t love you! Pets show affection in several ways, but at the end of the day they love you more than anything. So let’s not take our pets for granted. Let’s give back to them through providing them with food, walks, a cozy place to sleep, and overall a family to love. You know that look of “I adore you” that they give you when you use your special voice with them. Use it often.
