As you begin to approach your college decisions or are trying to narrow down where to apply, there are important factors to look for. The most obvious thing you must consider is whether it has a degree. From there, the first thing to consider is loving the campus; make sure you find the location pretty and know that you can easily commute across your campus. Keep in mind that you are going to walk this campus for at least 4 years, so you truly love it. Secondly, make sure the school you are considering has a good community. When looking at the University of Arizona, the campus had multiple recreational centers, grassy areas where students hang out, and school spirit towards athletics. College is all about making connections, so make sure wherever you go that it fits your interests. The third thing to consider is opportunities within your program of study. I personally have always wanted to travel abroad, and the business program at the University of Arizona offers multiple opportunities to study abroad in places like Barcelona, Sydney, and Singapore. Make sure to also look for clubs and internship possibilities the school offers so you can again form those connections and be well-suited for the future. The fourth thing to consider is how many resources are available to help you if you struggle with your major. Make sure the school has tutoring opportunities and office hours to get extra help if needed. You want to surround yourself with a community that wants you to advance as a student. You also want your program to have resources that help you get past college. Whether it be internships or companies you can connect with, you want to be set up for your future. The last thing to consider are the unique things on campus. At U of A, they had a rock wall and a ton of mascots throughout the school. Both of these things were random but made me fall in love with the school even more. Overall, you want to love these next 4 years and feel like every penny you spend is worth it, so make sure you consider all factors and find your second home.
