Students spend so much time dwelling and stressing about their future profession and possible future. But when you’re a kid you don’t worry about all the exams you have to pass and all the studying hours you have to put in. It made it seem like you could do anything, climb the highest mountain. It makes me wonder what Chatfield’s future world leaders want to profession in, and what little they wanted to do.
Abbi Prussia, a fellow sophomore here at Chatfield, planned to be a veterinarian because she, “loves dogs, and wanted to pursue something that helped them”. But she soon realized she didn’t like that subject and wouldn’t enjoy working with injured animals. Now she plans to be a children’s ER nurse because “she wants to be a nurse, but doesn’t have to work with old people”. To get there, she plans to graduate high school and go to college and hopefully get her masters degree. She thinks she’ll, “pull through if she has her head in the game”.
Brayden Josephs, a junior and past homecoming court, planned to be an astronaut because he thought, “exploring planets was really cool along with aliens and star wars”. But he didn’t want to pursue something that was, “physically draining and hurts your body. Brayden plans to be a lawyer now because “you know [he] makes that bank, and a lot of his rich friends parents do that”.
Sydney Worwick, a junior here at Chatfield, wanted to be a doctor. Honestly because she “wanted to make a LOT of money”, but soon realized it would take a lot of dedication and work to get there. Currently she wants to be a psychologist, specifically a criminal psychologist.
When I was younger, I idolized the idea of becoming a paleontologist. I thought about it as a crazy experience to dig up bones and discover new species to share with the world. But as I became older, I realized how much I despise science and finding a job as a paleontologist would be difficult and low paying. Now as I sit here writing this, I’m passionate about learning more about criminal justice. So, I hope to succeed as a criminal investigator when I grow up, if I grow up.
